Jeffrey Cambra

Jeff Cambra is a 35-year resident of Alameda and an East Bay native. He attended
Chabot Community College, University of California -Davis, and the John F. Kennedy
School of Law where he received his Juris Doctorate. He is a member in good standing
of the California Bar Association. Additionally, he has advanced training in community-
based mediation and facilitation of multistakeholder/multi-issue projects. He has owned
and managed multiple businesses over the years including wholesale product distribution,
and customer direct sales manufacturing, is currently the principal in a large-scale event
production company, and provides pro bono legal services to Alameda residents.
He is an active member of the Alameda community having served on numerous
nonprofit boards including the League of Women Voters of Alameda, the Rotary Club of
Alameda, Altarena Playhouse, the Alameda Chamber of Commerce, and in an advisory
capacity on many other nonprofit boards.
In addition to serving on the Healthcare District Board of Directors, he has served on the
City of Alameda’s Open Government Commission twice (once as chair) and the Rent
Review Advisory Committee where he chaired the mediation panel. In 2024, he was
elected the chair of Peralta Community College District Bond Measure Oversight
Committee.
Jeff chose Alameda as his current home because of the Victorian architecture and proximity to
the beach. He can be seen walking the streets of Alameda with Mouf - the 90 lb.
German Shephard rescue canine and roving reporter for “The Bear’s-Eye View of
Alameda.
He is grateful and secure knowing there is a hospital with an emergency room less than
ten minutes from most of the homes in Alameda, which is why he sought a position on
the District board and continues to serve to preserve this vital community asset.
