"Gayle Godfrey Codiga is a fifth-generation Alamedan.  She attended Alameda Public Schools along with attending the University of California graduating with a Business Degree with a field of emphasis in Real Estate and Marketing.  She attended the University of San Francisco achieving a Law Degree.  She was admitted to the Bar on December 3, 1984, and is currently retired from the practice of law. 

               Gayle has served in various positions at Alameda Hospital, from being a member of the Foundation Board to serving as President of the Foundation.  In her second elected term, she serves on the Board of Trustees of the Alameda Hospital District and currently serves as Vice-President of the Board of Directors of the District. Gayle has served on the Board of the Alameda Chamber of Commerce. She is currently on the Alameda Boys and Girls Club Foundation.   Gayle lives with her husband in Alameda, and they have one daughter."
